ಬರ್ಮಿಂಗ್ ಹ್ಯಾಮ್[ಜು.01]: 2019ರ ವಿಶ್ವಕಪ್ ಟೂರ್ನಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಭಾರತ ಮೊದಲ ಸೋಲು ಕಂಡಿದೆ. ಇಂಗ್ಲೆಂಡ್ ವಿರುದ್ಧ 31 ರನ್ ಗಳ ಸೋಲು ಕಂಡ ಟೀಂ ಇಂಡಿಯಾ ಬರೋಬ್ಬರಿ 27 ವರ್ಷಗಳ ಬಳಿಕ ಇಂಗ್ಲೆಂಡ್ ಗೆ ವಿಶ್ವಕಪ್ ಟೂರ್ನಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಶರಣಾಗಿದೆ. ಈ ಮೊದಲು 1992ರ ಏಕದಿನ ವಿಶ್ವಕಪ್ ಟೂರ್ನಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಭಾರತ 9 ರನ್ ಗಳಿಂದ ಇಂಗ್ಲೆಂಡ್ ಗೆ ಶರಣಾಗಿತ್ತು.

ಟಾಸ್ ಗೆದ್ದು ಮೊದಲು ಬ್ಯಾಟ್ ಮಾಡಿದ ಇಂಗ್ಲೆಂಡ್ ಜಾನಿ ಬೇರ್’ಸ್ಟೋ ಹಾಗೂ ಜೇಸನ್ ರಾಯ್ ಆಕರ್ಷಕ ಶತಕದ ಜತೆಯಾಟದ ನೆರವಿನಿಂದ ಬೃಹತ್ ಮೊತ್ತ ಕಲೆಹಾಕುವತ್ತ ದಾಪುಗಾಲಿಟ್ಟಿತು. ಜಾನಿ ಬೇರ್’ಸ್ಟೋ ಸಮಯೋಚಿತ ಶತಕ ಹಾಗೂ ಜೇಸನ್ ರಾಯ್ ಮತ್ತು ಬೆನ್ ಸ್ಟೋಕ್ಸ್ ಸಿಡಿಲಬ್ಬರದ ಶತಕದ ನೆರವಿನಿಂದ 337 ರನ್ ಬಾರಿಸಿತ್ತು.

ಗುರಿ ಬೆನ್ನತ್ತಿದ ಭಾರತ ಆರಂಭದಲ್ಲೇ ರಾಹುಲ್ ವಿಕೆಟ್ ಕಳೆದುಕೊಂಡಿತಾದರೂ, ರೋಹಿತ್ ಶರ್ಮಾ ಹಾಗೂ ವಿರಾಟ್ ಕೊಹ್ಲಿ ಜತೆಯಾಟ ತಂಡಕ್ಕೆ ಆಸರೆಯಾಯಿತು. ಮಧ್ಯಮ ಕ್ರಮಾಂಕದಲ್ಲಿ ಹಾರ್ದಿಕ್ ಪಾಂಡ್ಯ ಹಾಗೂ ರಿಷಭ್ ಪಂತ್ ಬ್ಯಾಟಿಂಗ್ ಟೀಂ ಇಂಡಿಯಾ ಪಾಳಯದಲ್ಲಿ ಗೆಲುವಿನ ಆಸೆ ಮೂಡಿಸಿತಾದರೂ, ಡೆತ್ ಓವರ್ ನಲ್ಲಿ ಕಮ್’ಬ್ಯಾಕ್ ಮಾಡಿದ ಇಂಗ್ಲೆಂಡ್ ಬೌಲರ್ ಗಳು ಭಾರತದ ರನ್ ವೇಗಕ್ಕೆ ಕಡಿವಾಡ ಹಾಕಲು ಯಶಸ್ವಿಯಾದರು.
ಧೋನಿ ಹಾಗೂ ಕೇದಾರ್ ಜಾಧವ್ ಕೊನೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ನಿರೀಕ್ಷೆಗೆ ತಕ್ಕಂತೆ ರನ್ ಗಳಿಸದೇ ಇದ್ದದ್ದು, ಭಾರತ ಸೋಲಿಗೆ ಕಾರಣ ಎಂಬ ಮಾತುಗಳು ಸಾಮಾಜಿಕ ಜಾಲತಾಣಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ವ್ಯಕ್ತವಾಗಿವೆ.
ಈ ಸೋಲಿನಿಂದಾಗಿ ಟೀಂ ಇಂಡಿಯಾ ಸೆಮೀಸ್ ಪ್ರವೇಶ ಇನ್ನೂ ಖಚಿತವಾಗಿಲ್ಲ. ಇದೀಗ ಜುಲೈ 2ರಂದು ವಿರಾಟ್ ಪಡೆ ಬಾಂಗ್ಲಾದೇಶದ ವಿರುದ್ಧ ಕಾದಾಡಲಿದ್ದು, ಗೆಲುವಿನ ಹಳಿಗೆ ಮರಳುವ ವಿಶ್ವಾಸದಲ್ಲಿದೆ.
