ಬೆಂಗಳೂರು(ಆ.20): ಹಿರಿಯ ಕ್ರಿಕೆಟಿಗ ಗೋಪಾಲಸ್ವಾಮಿ ಕಸ್ತೂರಿರಂಗನ್ (89) ಬುಧವಾರ ಇಲ್ಲಿನ ತಮ್ಮ ನಿವಾಸದಲ್ಲಿ ಹೃದಯಾಘಾತದಿಂದ ನಿಧನರಾದರು. ಕಸ್ತೂರಿರಂಗನ್ ಪತ್ನಿ ಹಾಗೂ ಇಬ್ಬರು ಮಕ್ಕಳನ್ನು ಅಗಲಿದ್ದಾರೆ.
1948ರಿಂದ 1963ರವರೆಗೂ ಮೈಸೂರು ರಾಜ್ಯದ ಪರ 36 ಪ್ರಥಮ ದರ್ಜೆ ಪಂದ್ಯಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಆಡಿದ್ದ ವೇಗಿ 94 ವಿಕೆಟ್‌ ಕಬಳಿಸಿದ್ದರು. ಕ್ರಿಕೆಟ್ ಪಿಚ್‌ಗಳ ಬಗ್ಗೆ ಅತ್ಯುತ್ತಮ ಜ್ಞಾನ ಹೊಂದಿದ್ದ ಕಸ್ತೂರಿರಂಗನ್ ಬಿಸಿಸಿಐ ಪಿಚ್‌ ಕ್ಯುರೇಟರ್‌ ಸಮಿತಿಯ ಅಧ್ಯಕ್ಷರಾಗಿ ಕಾರ್ಯನಿರ್ವಹಿಸಿದ್ದರು. ಕರ್ನಾಟಕ ರಾಜ್ಯ ಕ್ರಿಕೆಟ್ ಸಂಸ್ಥೆ (ಕೆಎಸ್‌ಸಿಎ) ಉಪಾಧ್ಯಕ್ಷರಾಗಿಯೂ ಸೇವೆ ಸಲ್ಲಿಸಿದ್ದರು. ಅವರ ನಿಧನಕ್ಕೆ ಕೆಎಸ್‌ಸಿಎ ಸಂತಾಪ ಸೂಚಿಸಿದೆ.

Former Mysuru (Karnataka) cricketer Gopalswamy Kasturirangan has passed away at the age of 89, in Bengaluru. He’d played 36 FC matches and picked 94 wickets. He also served as an administrator and pitch curator after his playing days. Rest in peace, sir.
