ನೌಕರರ ವಿರೋಧದ ನಡುವೆ ತನ್ನ ಶೇ.50ರಷ್ಟು ಸಿಬ್ಬಂದಿಯನ್ನು, ಅರ್ಥಾತ್‌ 7500 ಸಿಬ್ಬಂದಿಗಳನ್ನು ಚುಟುಕು ಸಾಮಾಜಿಕ ಮಾಧ್ಯಮ ‘ಟ್ವೀಟರ್‌’, ವಜಾ ಮಾಡಿದೆ.
ಸ್ಯಾನ್‌ ಫ್ರಾನ್ಸಿಸ್ಕೊ: ನೌಕರರ ವಿರೋಧದ ನಡುವೆ ತನ್ನ ಶೇ.50ರಷ್ಟು ಸಿಬ್ಬಂದಿಯನ್ನು, ಅರ್ಥಾತ್‌ 7500 ಸಿಬ್ಬಂದಿಗಳನ್ನು ಚುಟುಕು ಸಾಮಾಜಿಕ ಮಾಧ್ಯಮ ‘ಟ್ವೀಟರ್‌’, ವಜಾ ಮಾಡಿದೆ. ಈ ಕುರಿತು ಟ್ವೀಟ್‌ ಮಾಡಿರುವ ಟ್ವೀಟರ್‌ನ ನೂತನ ಮಾಲೀಕ ಎಲಾನ್‌ ಮಸ್ಕ್, ‘ಕಂಪನಿ ದಿನಕ್ಕೆ 40 ಲಕ್ಷ ಡಾಲರ್‌ನಷ್ಟು ನಷ್ಟ ಅನುಭವಿಸುತ್ತಿದೆ. ಹಾಗಾಗಿ ವಜಾ ಮಾಡದೇ ಬೇರೆ ಆಯ್ಕೆ ಇಲ್ಲ’ ಎಂದಿದ್ದಾರೆ. ಕಂಪನಿಯನ್ನು ಲಾಭದತ್ತ ಕೊಂಡೊಯ್ಯುವ ಉದ್ದೇಶದಿಂದ 50% ರಷ್ಟು ಉದ್ಯೋಗಿಗಳನ್ನು ಕೆಲಸದಿಂದ ಕೈ ಬಿಡುವ ತಮ್ಮ ಯೋಜನೆ ಬಗ್ಗೆ ಕೇವಲ ಒಂದು ವಾರದ ಹಿಂದೆ ಮಸ್ಕ್ ಘೋಷಿಸಿದ್ದರು. ಈ ಕುರಿತು ವಜಾಗೊಂಡ ಉದ್ಯೋಗಿಗಳು ಅಸಮಾಧಾನ ಹೊರಹಾಕಿದ್ದು, ‘ಇದು ಜನರನ್ನು ಅಮಾನವೀಯವಾಗಿ ನಡೆಸಿಕೊಳ್ಳುವ ಮಾರ್ಗವಾಗಿದ್ದು, ಮಸ್ಕ್ ಎಲ್ಲ ಕಡೆಯಿಂದಲೂ ಲಾಭ ಗಳಿಸುವ ಯೋಚನೆ ಮಾಡುತ್ತಿದ್ದಾರೆ’ ಎಂದು ಕಿಡಿಕಾರಿದ್ದಾರೆ.
ವಜಾ ಮಾಡುವ 24 ಗಂಟೆಯ ಮೊದಲು ಕೆಲಸದಲ್ಲಿ ಮುಂದುವರೆಯುತ್ತಾರೋ ಇಲ್ಲವೋ ಎಂಬುದನ್ನು ತಿಳಿಯಲು ಕಚೇರಿಗೆ ಹೋಗದೆ ಮನೆಯಲ್ಲೇ ಇರಲು ಸಿಬ್ಬಂದಿಗಳಿಗೆ ಇ-ಮೇಲ್‌ ಕಳುಹಿಸಲಾಗಿತ್ತು ಹಾಗೂ ಕೆಲಸಕ್ಕೆ ಲಾಗಿನ್‌ ಆಗುವ ಅವಕಾಶವನ್ನು ನಿರಾಕರಿಸಲಾಗಿತ್ತು. ಇತ್ತೀಚೆಗೆ, ಟೆಸ್ಲಾ ಕಾರು ಕಂಪನಿ ಮಾಲೀಕ ಮಸ್ಕ್ 44 ದಶಲಕ್ಷ ಡಾಲರ್‌ಗೆ ಟ್ವೀಟರ್‌ ಅನ್ನು ಖರೀದಿಸಿದ್ದರು. ಈ ಹಣದ ವಸೂಲಿ ಭಾಗವಾಗಿ ಮಸ್ಕ್ ಈ ನಿರ್ಧಾರ ಕೈಗೊಂಡಿದ್ದಾರೆ ಎನ್ನಲಾಗಿದೆ. ಟ್ವೀಟರ್‌ನಲ್ಲಿ ಉಳಿದ ಉದ್ಯೋಗಿಗಳ ಮೇಲ್ವಿಚಾರಣೆಗೆ ಟೆಸ್ಲಾದ ಉದ್ಯೋಗಿಗಳನ್ನು ಕರೆತರಲಾಗುತ್ತಿದೆ ಎಂದು ಕಂಪನಿ ಮೂಲಗಳು ತಿಳಿಸಿವೆ.

Layoffs are terrible. No warning. Just an abrupt, early morning meeting on your calendar with your boss. Followed by blocked access. It’s terrible. Giving your blood, sweat, and tears to a company, only to realize it wasn't valued. The industry can do better.
