Karnataka Ranks 2nd in FDI Inflows; FTAs to Boost Global Trade Opportunities
Inaugurated the state-level workshop on Leveraging Free Trade Agreements (FTAs), jointly organised by VTPC and DGFT in Bengaluru.
India’s nine FTAs covering 38 countries over the past five years present significant opportunities to expand Karnataka’s global trade footprint.
Karnataka ranks 2nd in FDI equity inflows, attracting USD 12.94 billion in 2025–26. The state secured investment commitments of ₹10.27 lakh crore at GIM 2025 and over ₹51,000 crore at Invest Karnataka 2026, with 75% of proposals directed beyond Bengaluru.
Accounting for 40% of India’s software and services exports, Karnataka is well-positioned to leverage FTAs across electronics, agriculture, food processing, textiles, pharmaceuticals and manufacturing.
With major investments from Foxconn, Lam Research and Tata Advanced Systems, our focus is on integrating MSMEs into global supply chains, supported by the Industrial Policy 2025–30 and export promotion initiatives.
Through #GIM2027, we aim to further strengthen global investment and trade partnerships.
The workshop was attended by over 200 entrepreneurs, exporters and senior officials.
