ಟೋಕಿಯೋ(ಆ.07): ಕರ್ನಾಟಕದ ಗಾಲ್ಫ್ ಆಟಗಾರ್ತಿ ಅದಿತಿ ಅಶೋಕ್ ಒಲಿಂಪಿಕ್ಸ್‌ನಲ್ಲಿ ಚೊಚ್ಚಲ ಪದಕ ಗೆಲ್ಲುವ ಅವಕಾಶವನ್ನು ಕೂದಲೆಳೆ ಅಂತರದಲ್ಲಿ ವಂಚಿತರಾಗಿದ್ದಾರೆ. 200ನೇ ಶ್ರೇಯಾಂಕಿತ ಬೆಂಗಳೂರಿನ ಆಟಗಾರ್ತಿ ಕೊನೆಯ ಕ್ಷಣದಲ್ಲಿ ಕೊಂಚ ಹಿನ್ನಡೆ ಅನುಭವಿಸಿದ್ದರಿಂದ ಟೋಕಿಯೋ ಒಲಿಂಪಿಕ್ಸ್‌ನಲ್ಲಿ ಪದಕ ಗೆಲ್ಲುವ ಅವಕಾಶವನ್ನು ಕೈಚೆಲ್ಲಿದ್ದಾರೆ.
ಮಹಿಳೆಯರ ವೈಯಕ್ತಿಕ ಸ್ಟ್ರೋಕ್‌ ಪ್ಲೇ ವಿಭಾಗದಲ್ಲಿ ಅದಿತಿ 3ನೇ ಸುತ್ತಿನ ಅಂತ್ಯಕ್ಕೆ 2ನೇ ಸ್ಥಾನದಲ್ಲಿದ್ದರು. ನಾಲ್ಕನೇ ಸುತ್ತಿನ ಆರಂಭದಲ್ಲಿ ಜಂಟಿ ಅಗ್ರಸ್ಥಾನಕ್ಕೇರುವ ಮೂಲಕ ಪದಕ ಗೆಲ್ಲುವ ಭರವಸೆಯನ್ನು ಮೂಡಿಸಿದ್ದರು. 4ನೇ ದಿನವಾದ ಶನಿವಾರ 17 ಹೋಲ್‌ ವೇಳೆಗೆ ಮತ್ತೆ ಎರಡನೇ ಸ್ಥಾನಕ್ಕೇರಿದರು. ಆ ಬಳಿಕ ಲಯ ಕಳೆದುಕೊಳ್ಳುವ ಮೂಲಕ ಅದಿತಿ ನಾಲ್ಕನೇ ಸ್ಥಾನಕ್ಕೆ ತೃಪ್ತಿಪಟ್ಟುಕೊಂಡರು. ಒಟ್ಟಾರೆ 76 ಸುತ್ತಿನ ಸ್ಪರ್ಧೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಅದಿತಿ ನಾಲ್ಕನೇ ಸ್ಥಾನ ಪಡೆದರು.
